Introducing Youth to the Outdoors
The Gem City Outdoorsmen Club Youth Field Day is a fun, hands-on outdoor education event designed to introduce young people to hunting, fishing, conservation, shooting sports, and outdoor recreation in a safe and supervised environment.
Our goal is to provide youth with the opportunity to learn new skills, gain confidence, and develop an appreciation for the outdoors while spending a day participating in exciting activities led by experienced volunteers and instructors.
Event Highlights
Participants will have the opportunity to experience a variety of outdoor activities, which may include:
- Archery
- Air Rifle Shooting
- Shotgun Shooting
- Fishing Skills
- Wildlife & Conservation Education
- Trapping & Fur Handling Demonstrations
- Outdoor Survival Skills
- Hunting Safety Education
- Nature and Environmental Programs
All activities are conducted under the supervision of trained volunteers with safety as our top priority.
Who Can Attend?
Youth Field Day is open to children and young adults interested in learning about the outdoors, regardless of prior experience. Beginners are encouraged to attend.

Community Support

The club is also proud to support youth outdoor programs throughout our community and serves as the home field for the General McLane High School Trap Shooting Team.
